Maryland Man Sentenced to Four Years of Probation for Counterfeit Credit Cars Scheme
PITTSBURGH, Pa. - A resident of Bowie, Md., has been sentenced in federal court to four years probation and six months home detention on his conviction of conspiracy to commit access device fraud, United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.
United States District Judge Nora Barry Fischer imposed the sentence on Lawrence A. Prempeh, 27.
According to information presented to the court, in October 2009, Prempeh conspired with others to traffic in and use counterfeit credit cards at stores in Western Pennsylvania.
Assistant United States Attorney Gregory C. Melucci prosecuted this case on behalf of the United States.
U.S. Attorney Hickton commended the United States Postal Inspection Service for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Prempeh.
