Johnstown Man Named in 3-Count Drug Indictment
JOHNSTOWN, Pa. - A resident of Johnstown, Pa., has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Johnstown on charges of distributing cocaine base and heroin, and possessing with intent to distribute cocaine base, commonly known as “crack,” United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.
The three-count indictment named Tyrone P. Greenwood, 29.
According to the indictment presented to the court, on Aug. 9, 2011, Greenwood distributed less than 28 grams of cocaine base; on Sept. 8, 2011, Greenwood distributed less than 100 grams of heroin, and on Oct. 20, 2011, Greenwood possessed with intent to distribute less than 28 grams of cocaine base.
The law provides for a maximum total sentence of 60 years in prison, a fine of $3,000,000, or both. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed would be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephanie L. Haines is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government.
The Laurel Highlands Resident Agency of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Cambria County Drug Task Force conducted the investigation leading to the indictment in this case.
An indictment is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
