Two Sentenced For Roles In Counterfeit Currency Scheme
PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Kayle Ann Pry was sentenced to six months imprisonment, six months in a residential treatment facility, a special assessment of $1,100 and three years supervised release in federal court on her conviction of making and passing counterfeit United States currency. Also, Donald L. Murphy was sentenced to 20 months imprisonment at each of counts 1-10, to run concurrently, a special assessment of $1,000 and three years supervised release on his conviction of conspiracy, counterfeiting and passing counterfeit United States currency.
United States District Judge Joy Flowers Conti imposed the sentences on Kayle Ann Pry, 24, and Donald L. Murphy, 34.
According to information presented to the court, Pry and Murphy were involved in conspiracy, counterfeiting and passing counterfeit United States currency.
Assistant United States James R. Wilson prosecuted this case on behalf of the government.
U.S. Attorney Hickton commended the United States Secret Service for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Pry and Murphy.
