Four Sentenced For Conspiring To Distribute Cocaine
PITTSBURGH, Pa. - One resident of Duquesne, Pa., one resident of Verona, Pa., and two residents of Pittsburgh, Pa., were all sentenced in federal court on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012, on their convictions for violating federal narcotics laws, United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.
United States District Judge Donetta W. Ambrose imposed the following sentences on:
- Dewayne Joseph, 28, of Duquesne, Pa., sentenced to 200 months in prison followed by five years supervised release;
- Eric G. Gaines, 41, of Verona, Pa., sentenced to 60 months in prison followed by four years supervised release;
- Andre Jackson, 33, of Pittsburgh, Pa., sentenced to 188 months in prison followed by four years supervised release; and
- Alimamy Saidu Timbo, 33, of Pittsburgh, Pa., sentenced to 41 months in prison followed by four years supervised release.
According to information presented to the court, from in and around February 2010 and continuing thereafter to on or about Dec. 14, 2010, Joseph conspired with others to distribute and possess with intent distribute five kilograms of more of cocaine, as well as 280 grams or more of cocaine base, in the form commonly known as crack; and Gaines and Jackson conspired with others to distribute and possess with intent to distribute more than 500 grams, but less than two kilograms of cocaine. Additionally, from in and around July 2010, and continuing thereafter to on or about Oct. 7, 2010, Timbo conspired with others to distribute and possess with intent to distribute at least 3.5 kilograms, but less than five kilograms of cocaine.
Assistant United States Attorney Amy L. Johnston prosecuted this case on behalf of the government.
U.S. Attorney Hickton commended the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Allegheny County Sheriff's Office, the McKeesport Police Department, the Clairton Police Department, the Allegheny County Housing Authority Police Department, the Pennsylvania State Police, the Allegheny County Police Department, and the Munhall Police Department for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Joseph, Gaines, Jackson, and Timbo.
