
Mexican Citizen Sentenced to Time Served for Unlawfully Re-entering United States
PITTSBURGH, Pa. - A resident of Mexico has been sentenced in federal court to time served (77 days) on his conviction of violating federal immigration laws, United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.
United States District Judge Mark R. Hornack imposed the sentence on Catarino Munoz-Garcia, 22, of Mexico.
According to information presented to the court, on or about Nov. 6, 2011, Munoz-Garcia was found in Marshall Township, Pa., after having unlawfully re-entered the United States following removal on or about April 22, 2011.
Assistant United States Attorney James T. Kitchen prosecuted this case on behalf of the government.
U.S. Attorney Hickton commended United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Munoz-Garcia.
