Judge Sentences McKees Rocks Man To 20 Years In Prison For Cocaine Trafficking Scheme
PITTSBURGH, Pa. - On Jan. 27, 2012, a resident of McKees Rocks, Pa., was sentenced in federal court to 240 months in prison followed by 10 years supervised release for violating federal drug trafficking laws, United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.
United States District Judge Terrence F. McVerry imposed the sentence on Franco Badini, 39. Badini was ordered to begin the service of his sentence immediately.
Badini was convicted in August 2011 after a week-long jury trial of conspiring to distribute and possess with intent to distribute at least 5 kilograms of cocaine.
Assistant United States Attorney Craig W. Haller prosecuted this case on behalf of the United States.
U.S. Attorney Hickton commended the Drug Enforcement Administration; the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police; the Pittsburgh Division of Weed and Seed; the Allegheny County Sheriff's Office; the Pennsylvania State Police; the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; the United States Marshals Service; and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Badini.
