Verona Man Charged With Robbing Area Banks
PITTSBURGH,Pa. - A former resident of Verona, Pa., has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh on charges of bank robbery, United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.
The four-count indictment, returned on July 24, named Eric Alan-Scott Ingram, 42, as the sole defendant.
According to the indictment, Ingram robbed a bank in Blawnox and another in Pittsburgh on Feb. 21 and 22, 2012. He allegedly displayed a bomb in each robbery.
The law provides for a maximum total sentence of 90 years in prison, a fine of $1,000,000.00, or both. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed would be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.
Assistant United States Attorney James Y. Garrett is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation conducted the investigation leading to the indictment in this case.
An indictment is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
