Man Charged With Drug Law Violations While Awaiting Sentencing In Another Federal Case
PITTSBURGH, Pa. - An Allegheny County resident has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh for violating federal narcotics trafficking laws while on federal pre-sentencing release in another narcotics trafficking case, United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.
The four-count indictment charges Robert Good, 22, formerly of various locations in Allegheny County, as the sole defendant.
According to the indictment, Good, on May 2, 2012, while on federal pre-sentencing release, distributed heroin and then, on May 10, 2012, possessed heroin with intent to distribute it at two locations and possessed two firearms in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.
The law provides for a maximum total sentence of at least five years and up to life in prison, a fine of up to $3,250,000, or both. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed would be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.
Assistant United States Attorney Craig W. Haller is prosecuting this case on behalf of the United States.
The Drug Enforcement Administration in conjunction with several local police departments conducted the investigation leading to the indictment in this case.
An indictment is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
