Judge Sentenced Johnstown Bank Robber To 5½ Years In Prison
JOHNSTOWN, Pa. - A resident of Johnstown, Pa., has been sentenced in federal court to 66 months in prison, three years supervised release, and pay restitution of $5.51 on his conviction of bank robbery, United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.
United States District Judge Kim R. Gibson imposed the sentence on Richard Brandon Johnson, 30.
According to information presented to the court, on Feb. 2, 2011, Johnson robbed the First Commonwealth Bank at 131 Fleming Ave., Johnstown, Pa., of $1,101.
Assistant United States Attorney John J. Valkovci, Jr., prosecuted this case on behalf of the government.
U.S. Attorney Hickton commended the Laurel Highlands Resident Agency of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Upper Yoder Township Police Department, and the Richland Township Police Department for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Johnson.
