Johnstown Man Sentenced to 17 Years in Prison for Trafficking Heroin
JOHNSTOWN, Pa. - A resident of Johnstown, Pa., has been sentenced in federal court to 210 months (17 years, 6 months) imprisonment and five years supervised release on his conviction of violating federal narcotics laws, United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.
United States District Judge Kim R. Gibson imposed the sentence on Delfon L. Chatman, 37.
According to information presented to the court, from April 28, 2009, to March 8, 2010, Chatman conspired to distribute 100 grams or more of heroin, and on March 6, 2010, he possessed less than 100 grams of heroin.
Assistant United States Attorney John J. Valkovci, Jr., prosecuted this case on behalf of the government.
U.S. Attorney Hickton commended the Laurel Highlands Resident Agency of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Cambria County Drug Task Force, the Johnstown Police Department, and the Upper Yoder Township Police Department for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Chatman.
