Ford City Woman Sentenced To Probation With Home Detention For Counterfeit Currency Conspiracy

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - A resident of Ford City, Pa., has been sentenced in federal court to three years probation with nine months of home detention on her conviction of a charge of conspiracy, United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.

United States District Judge Terrence F. McVerry imposed the sentence on Tiphany D. Ohler, 26.

According to information presented to the court, Ohler conspired to, and did, manufacture and pass thousands of dollars of counterfeit currency at various stores throughout the district during the period of March 2009 through May 2009.

Assistant United States Attorney James T. Kitchen prosecuted this case on behalf of the government.

U.S. Attorney Hickton commended the United States Secret Service for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Ohler.
