Westmoreland County Man Admits Threatening To Murder FBI Agent
PITTSBURGH, Pa. - A resident of Youngwood, Pa., pleaded guilty in federal court to a charge of violating a federal law involving threats against a Federal agent, United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.
Anthony David Dinozzi, 45, pleaded guilty to one count before Senior United States District Judge Donetta W. Ambrose.
In connection with the guilty plea, the court was advised that on Jan. 5, 2012, Dinozzi threatened to murder a Special Agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) on account of the performance of the agent's official duties.
Judge Ambrose scheduled sentencing for Aug. 29, 2012, at 9:30 a.m. The law provides for a total sentence of 10 years in prison, a fine of $250,000, or both. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed is based upon the seriousness of the offense and the criminal history, if any, of the defendant.
Pending sentencing, the court continued the detention of Dinozzi.
Assistant United States Attorney Margaret E. Picking is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government.
The FBI conducted the investigation that led to the prosecution of Dinozzi.
