
Removed Alien Sentenced to Time-Served fro Illegally Re-Entering United States
PITTSBURGH - An individual found by the Pennsylvania State Police has been sentenced in federal court to time-served on his conviction of re-entry into the United States after deportation, United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.
United States District Judge David S. Cercone imposed the sentence on Carlos Bautista-Cruz, a/k/a Bernardo Hernandez-Bautista, 27, formerly from Mexico.
According to information presented to the court, Carlos Bautista-Cruz, a/k/a Bernardo Hernandez-Bautista, an alien, was removed from the United States by United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement on April 9, 2010. Carlos Bautista-Cruz was found on July 1, 2012, by the Pennsylvania State Police (Indiana County).
Assistant United States Attorney Shardul S. Desai prosecuted this case on behalf of the government.
U.S. Attorney Hickton commended the U.S. Immigration and Custom Enforcement and the Pennsylvania State Police for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Carlos Bautista-Cruz.
