UNITED STATES ATTORNEY’S OFFICE LAUNCHES REDESIGNED WEBSITE

Includes updated news and information links, federal law enforcement and judicial resources, U.S. Attorney and Department of Justice priorities and initiatives

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - United States Attorney Peter F. Neronha today announced the launch of a redesigned website for the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Rhode Island. The redesigned website includes updated links for news and resource information, including links to many of the local federal law enforcement agencies, and useful links to local, regional and national federal judicial websites, including the Supreme Court of the United States. The United States Attorney’s website for the District of Rhode Island is available at http://www.usdoj.gov/usao/ri

The newly designed website also includes access to the United States Attorneys’ public website that highlights the work of the U.S. Attorneys’ offices across the country on Department of Justice priorities and initiatives.  The Briefing Room page offers news, videos, photos, statistics, and other information on the efforts of the U.S. Attorneys’ offices across the country. The page is available at http://www.justice.gov/usao/briefing_room/index.html

Each month the website will feature a different Department priority.  May 2011 is dedicated to Project Safe Childhood (PSC) and includes information on the PSC Initiative, the Department’s National Strategy for Child Exploitation Prevention and Interdiction, the upcoming National Strategy Conference on Combating Child Exploitation, press releases on significant PSC cases, statistics on convictions and sentences in PSC cases, and prevention and Internet safety resources.  Next month, the Briefing Room will feature the U.S. Attorney General’s Anti-Violence Strategy.
