
Eagle Butte Man Sentenced on Assault Charge

United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that an Eagle Butte, South Dakota, man charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon and Aiding and Abetting was sentenced on January 12, 2011, by United States District Judge Roberto A. Lange. Shawn Allen Marrowbone, age 20, was sentenced to 36 months in custody, 3 years of supervised release, and a $100 special assessment to the Victim Assistance Fund. Marrowbone was indicted for Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, Assault Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury, and Aiding and Abetting by a federal grand jury on May 11, 2010. The charges relate to Marrowbone using shod feet to aid and abet in the unlawful assault of a man from Rosebud, South, Dakota, in October 2009. He pled guilty to the charges on October 13, 2010. This case was investigated by the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe. Assistant United States Attorney Tim Maher prosecuted the case. Marrowbone was immediately turned over to the custody of the United States Marshal. |
