
Pukwana man arraigned for bank burglary and bank larceny

U.S. Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a Pukwana man has been indicted by a federal grand jury for Bank Burglary, Bank Larceny, and Aiding & Abetting. Kalup W. McGhee, age 19, was indicted by a federal grand jury on January 11, 2011. He appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Mark A. Moreno on February 4, 2011, and pled not guilty to the indictment. The maximum penalty upon conviction is 20 years' imprisonment on Count I and 10 years' imprisonment on Count II. The charges are merely accusations, and McGhee is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. The investigation is being conducted by the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Eric Kelderman is prosecuting the case. McGhee was remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshal. A trial date has not yet been set. |
