
Las Vegas man pled not guilty to conspiracy to distribute more than 50 kilograms of marijuana and distribution of a controlled substance

United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a Las Vegas, Nevada, man has been indicted by a federal grand jury for conspiracy to distribute more than 50 kilograms of marijuana and distribution of a controlled substance. JL Dye, age 38, was indicted by a federal grand jury on November 2, 2010. He appeared before United States Magistrate Judge Mark A. Moreno on February 7, 2011, and pled not guilty to the indictment. The maximum penalty upon conviction is not more than 20 years’ custody, a $1,000,000 fine, or both; 3 years of supervised release; and a $100 special assessment. Restitution may also be ordered. The charges are merely accusations, and Dye is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. The investigation is being conducted by the Northern Plains Safe Trails Drug Enforcement Task Force. The case is being prosecuted by Special Assistant United States Attorney Ted L. McBride. Dye was remanded to the custody of the United States Marshal. |
