
Mission Man Pleads Guilty to Assault with a Dangerous Weapon

United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that Eric R. Roubideaux, age 37, of Mission, South Dakota, appeared before United States District Judge Roberto A. Lange on February 14, 2011, and pled guilty to count I of the indictment that charged him with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon. The maximum penalty upon conviction is 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, or both; up to 3 years of supervised release; and a $100 special assessment to the Victim Assistance Fund. Restitution may also be ordered. The charge relates to Roubideaux using a bat to assault a female in Todd County on September 30, 2010. The investigation was conducted by Rosebud Law Enforcement Services. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Tim Maher. A presentence investigation was ordered,and a sentencing date was set for May 9, 2011. The defendant was remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshal pending sentencing.
