Rosebud Man Pleads Guilty to First Degree Burglary

United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that Jesse Andrews, age 21, of Rosebud, South Dakota, appeared before United States District Judge Roberto A. Lange on March 1, 2011, and pled guilty to Count I of the indictment that charged him with First Degree Burglary. The maximum penalty upon conviction is 25 years of imprisonment, a $250,000 fine, or both; up to five years of supervised release; and a $100 special assessment. Restitution may also be ordered.

The charge relates to Andrews and two other men unlawfully entering the home of another in Todd County on September 24, 2010. They then stole several firearms and firearm accessories. The investigation was conducted by Rosebud Law Enforcement Services. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Meghan N. Dilges.

A presentence investigation was ordered, and a sentencing date was set for May 16, 2011. The defendant was released on bond pending sentencing.
