
Parmelee Man Sentenced for Assault of his Mother

United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a Parmelee, South Dakota, man charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon and Assault Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury changed his plea to guilty of Assault by Striking, Beating and Wounding on March 14, 2011. Cleveland Arcoren, age 37, was then sentenced by United States District Judge Roberto A. Lange to time served and a $10 special assessment. He has been in custody since September 8, 2010. Arcoren was indicted for Assault with a Dangerous Weapon and Assault Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury by a federal grand jury on November 9, 2010. The charge relates to Arcoren unlawfully assaulting his mother in Todd County on September 8, 2010. Said assault resulted in a fracture to her right arm. This case was investigated by Rosebud Law Enforcement Services. Assistant United States Attorney Meghan N. Dilges prosecuted the case. |
