
St. Francis man Arraigned on Charges of Conspiracy to Distribute and Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance

United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a St. Francis, South Dakota, man has been indicted by a federal grand jury for conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance. Dale Haukaas, age 30, was indicted by a federal grand jury on March 8, 2011, for conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance. He made an initial appearance before United States Magistrate Judge Mark A. Moreno on March 23, 2011. The maximum penalty upon conviction is 20 years’ custody, a $1,000,000 fine, or both; at least three years of supervised release; $100 special assessment. Restitution may also be ordered. The charges are merely accusations, and Haukaas is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. |
