
Las Vegas Man Sentenced for Conspiracy to Distribute a Controlled Substance

United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a Las Vegas man charged with conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance was sentenced on March 28, 2011, by United States District Judge Roberto A. Lange. Shaun Michael Dye, age 30, was sentenced to 18 months in custody, three years of supervised release, and a $100 special assessment to the Victim Assistance Fund. Dye was indicted for conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance by a federal grand jury on May 11, 2010. Dye pled guilty to the charge on January 5, 2011. The investigation was conducted by the South Dakota Highway Patrol and the Northern Plains Safe Trails Drug Enforcement Task Force. The case was prosecuted by Special Assistant United States Attorney Ted L. McBride. Dye was immediately turned over to the custody of the United States Marshal. |
