
St. Francis Man Pleads Guilty to Interstate Transportation of a Stolen Motor Vehicle

United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that Ethan Alan Bordeaux, age 39, of St. Francis, South Dakota, appeared before United States District Judge Roberto A. Lange on July 7, 2011, and pled guilty to Interstate Transportation of a Stolen Motor Vehicle. The maximum penalty upon conviction is 10 years of imprisonment, a $250,000 fine, or both. On March 14, 2011, Bordeaux stole a 2000 white Ford pickup in Valentine, Nebraska. He took the truck and drove it from Valentine to Antelope, South Dakota, transporting the vehicle between the State of Nebraska and the State of South Dakota. The investigation was conducted by Rosebud Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Services. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Tim Maher. A presentence investigation was ordered, and a sentencing date was set for September 26, 2011. The defendant was remanded to the custody of the United States Marshal pending sentencing. |
