United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that Loren Larrabee, age 29, of Little Eagle, appeared before United States District Judge Charles B. Kornmann on October 3, 2011, and pled guilty to a charge of Sexual Abuse of a Person Incapable of Consenting. The maximum penalty upon conviction is up to life in custody, a $250,000 fine, or both.
The charges are the result of a May 2008 incident at Little Eagle involving a woman who went to Larrabee’s mother's house and fell asleep on the couch in the living room. Larrabee, who lived with his mother, got up to go to the bathroom, saw the victim on the couch, and sexually assaulted her.
The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Mikal Hanson.
A presentence investigation was ordered, and a sentencing date was set for January 9, 2012. The defendant was remanded to the custody of the United States Marshal pending sentencing.
