Tucson Man Arraigned on Fraud Charges

U.S. Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a Tucson, Arizona, man has been indicted by a federal grand jury for Conspiracy, Mail Fraud and Wire Fraud.

Chadrick A. Sayer, age 32, was indicted by a federal grand jury on August 22, 2011. He appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Mark A. Moreno on October 5, 2011, and pled not guilty to the indictment. The maximum penalty upon conviction is 5 years' imprisonment on the conspiracy count and 20 years' imprisonment on each of the fraud counts. The charges are merely accusations, and Sayer is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

The investigation is being conducted by the U.S. Secret Service. Assistant U.S. Attorney Randolph J. Seiler is prosecuting the case.

Sayer was released on bond pending trial. A trial date has not yet been set.
