
Cherry Creek Man Arraigned on Assault Charges

US Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a Cherry Creek man has been indicted by a federal grand jury for Assault with a Dangerous Weapon and Assault Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury.
Jody Jeremy Dupris, a/k/a Jeremy Dupris, age 31, was indicted by a federal grand jury on November 8, 2011, for Assault with a Dangerous Weapon and Assault Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury. Dupris appeared before US Magistrate Judge Mark A. Moreno on November 14, 2011, and pled not guilty to the indictment. The maximum penalty upon conviction is 10 years in prison on each count, a $250,000 fine, or both. The charges are merely accusations, and Dupris is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
The investigation is being conducted by Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe law enforcement. Assistant US Attorney Mikal Hanson is prosecuting the case. Dupris was remanded to the custody of the US Marshal. A trial date has not yet been set.
