Mission Man Pleads Guilty to Assault

United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a Mission, South Dakota, man, Anthony Quinn Hero, age 26, charged with Assault by Striking, Beating, and Wounding pled guilty to the charge and was sentenced on December 8, 2011, by United States Magistrate Judge Mark A. Moreno. Hero was sentenced to 6 months in custody and a $10 special assessment to the Victim Assistance Fund.

On July 2, 2011, Hero and the victim were together at a home in Antelope, South Dakota, when Hero used his fist to strike the victim in the jaw, knocking the victim to the ground.

The case was investigated by Rosebud Law Enforcement Services. Assistant United States Attorney Tim Maher prosecuted the case. Hero was remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshal.
