United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a man from Mexico charged with Illegal Entry After Deportation was sentenced on January 14, 2011, by US District Judge Jeffrey L. Viken. Alejandro Nunez-Deanda, age 34, was sentenced to two months of imprisonment.

Nunez-Deanda was indicted by a federal grand jury on November 17, 2010. In September 2010, after having been previously deported to Mexico, he was found to be living in Rapid City illegally. He pled guilty to the offense on December 1, 2010.

This case was investigated by the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Assistant US Attorney Robert A. Mandel prosecuted the case.

Nunez-Deanda was immediately turned over to the custody of the US Marshal.
