Rapid City man Sentenced for Selling Cocaine

United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a Rapid City man charged with Distribution of a Controlled Substance was sentenced on January 14, 2011, by US District Judge Jeffrey L. Viken. Kevin Wade Vaughn, age 27, was sentenced to 41 months of imprisonment, 3 years of supervised release, and a $100 victim assessment.

Vaughn was indicted by a federal grand jury on February 18, 2010. In July 2009, near Rapid City, Vaughn sold a half ounce of cocaine. He pled guilty to the offense on November 29, 2010.
This case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Unified Narcotics Enforcement Team. Assistant US Attorney Mark A. Vargo prosecuted the case.

Vaughn was immediately turned over to the custody of the US Marshal.
