
Kyle Man Indicted on Federal Charges for Sexual Abuse of a Minor

U.S. Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a Kyle man has been indicted by a federal grand jury for Sexual Abuse of a Minor.
Corey Old Horse, age 19, was indicted by a federal grand jury on January 19, 2011, for Sexual Abuse of a Minor. He appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Veronica L. Duffy on January 28, 2011, and pled not guilty to the indictment. The maximum penalty upon conviction is 15 years of imprisonment a $250,000 fine, or both. The charge is merely an accusation, and Old Horse is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
The investigation is being conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Bureau of Indian Affairs, and the Oglala Sioux Tribe Department of Public Safety. Assistant U.S. Attorney Carolyn Olson is prosecuting the case.
Old Horse was released on bond to a third party pending trial.
