Rapid City Man Sentenced for Possession of Cocaine

United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a Rapid City man charged with Possession With the Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance was sentenced on March 3, 2011, by US District Judge Jeffrey L. Viken. Emmanuel Julius Williams, age 34, was sentenced to 36 months of imprisonment, six years of supervised release, and a $100 victim assessment.

Williams was indicted by a federal grand jury on February 18, 2010. In January 2010, Williams possessed cocaine while intending to distribute it near Rapid City. He pled guilty on November 29, 2010.

This case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Unified Narcotics Enforcement Team. Assistant US Attorney Robert A. Mandel prosecuted the case.

Williams was immediately turned over to the custody of the US Marshal.
