Pine Ridge Man Sentenced for Providing Alcohol on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation

United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a Pine Ridge man charged with Dispensing Intoxicants in Indian Country was sentenced on April 29, 2011, by US Magistrate Judge Veronica L. Duffy. Harold Brewer, Jr., age 21, was sentenced to time served, one year of supervised release, and a $25 victim assessment.
Brewer was indicted by a federal grand jury on December 21, 2010. Between April 2009 and August 2009, Brewer provided alcohol to another person on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. He pled guilty on April 29, 2011.
This case was investigated by the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the Oglala Sioux Tribe-Department of Public Safety. Assistant US Attorney Sarah B. Collins prosecuted the case.
