United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a Rosebud, South Dakota, man has been indicted by a federal grand jury for sexually abusing a minor in Shannon County in the spring of 2011.
Carlisle Denoyer, age 23, was indicted by a federal grand jury on May 17, 2011, for two counts of Sexual Abuse of a Minor. Denoyer appeared before United States Magistrate Judge Mark A. Moreno on July 21, 2011, and pled not guilty to the indictment. The maximum penalty upon conviction is 15 years of imprisonment and/or a $250,000 fine. The charges are merely accusations, and Denoyer is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Denoyer was remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshal. A trial date has not yet been set.
