Nebraska Woman Pleads Guilty to Conspiracy to Distribute a Controlled Substance

United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that Autumn Mangione, age 22, of Potter, Nebraska, appeared before United States District Judge Jeffrey L. Viken on October 20, 2011, and pled guilty to count 1 of an indictment that charged her with Conspiracy to Distribute a Controlled Substance. The maximum penalty upon conviction is 5 years’ imprisonment and/or a $250,000 fine.

The charge relates to Mangione and others distributing marijuana in the District of South Dakota and elsewhere between September 2009 and April 2011. The investigation was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Ted L. McBride.

A presentence investigation was ordered, and a sentencing date was set for January 13, 2011. The defendant was released on bond pending sentencing.
