Wyoming Man Sentenced for Failure to Pay Legal Child Support

US Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a Ralston, Wyoming, man charged with Failure to Pay Legal Child Support was sentenced on May 10, 2011, by US Magistrate Judge William D. Gerdes. Ryan C. Schlueter, age 35, was sentenced to time served and ordered to pay a $10 special assessment to the Victim Assistance Fund.

Schlueter was indicted for failing to pay over $13,000 in past due child support by a federal grand jury on June 3, 2010. At the time of indictment, Ryan Schlueter had not made a child support payment since January 2010, and the total arrearage amount was $13,303.95. At the time of sentencing, Schlueter had made full payment of his arrears in the amount of $12,403.95. He pled guilty to the charge on May 20, 2011.

This case was investigated the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Inspector General. Assistant US Attorney Thomas J. Wright prosecuted the case.
