
Michigan Man Arraigned on Charges of Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person

United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a Mikano, Michigan, man has been indicted by a federal grand jury for Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person. Alan Moon, age 55, was indicted by a federal grand jury on March 13, 2012. He appeared before United States Magistrate Judge Mark A. Moreno on April 4, 2012, and pled not guilty to the indictment. The maximum penalty upon conviction is 10 years’ custody, a $250,000 fine, or both.
The charges are merely accusations, and Moon is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
The investigation is being conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Marie H. Ruettgers. Moon was released on bond pending trial. A trial date has not been set.
