
Cherry Creek Man Arraigned on Sexual Abuse Charges

U.S. Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a Cherry Creek man has been indicted by a federal grand jury for two counts of Sexual Contact with a Minor and one count of Sexual Abuse of a Minor. Marlen William Dupris, age 59, was indicted by a federal grand jury on July 18, 2012. He appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Mark A. Moreno on August 1, 2012, and pled not guilty to the indictment. The maximum penalty upon conviction of the Sexual Contact charges is 2 years' imprisonment, a $250,000 fine, or both. The maximum penalty on the Sexual Abuse charge is 15 years' imprisonment, a $250,000 fine, or both. The charges are merely accusations, and Dupris is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. The investigation is being conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Mikal Hanson is prosecuting the case. Dupris was released on bond pending trial. A trial date has not yet been set. |
