
Mission Woman Charged with Assault

United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a Mission, South Dakota, woman has been indicted by a federal grand jury for Assault with a Dangerous Weapon and Assault Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury. Misty Swalley, age 22, was indicted by a federal grand jury on July 18, 2012. She appeared before United States Magistrate Judge Mark A. Moreno on August 27, 2012, and pled not guilty to the indictment. The maximum penalty upon conviction is up to 10 years’ in custody, a $250,000 fine, or both. The charges are merely accusations, and Swalley is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. Swalley was released on bond pending trial. A trial date has not been set. |
