
Rosebud Man Sentenced for Receiving Stolen Property

United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a Rosebud, South Dakota, man charged with Receiving Stolen Property and Aiding and Abetting was sentenced on November 8, 2012, by United States Magistrate Judge Mark A. Moreno. Paul Guerrero, age 23, was sentenced to 1 year probation, $1,672.14 in restitution, and a $25 special assessment to the Victim Assistance Fund. Guerrero was indicted by a federal grand jury on May 8, 2012, and pled guilty to the charge on September 11, 2012. The conviction stems from an incident that took place on February 4, 2012, when Guerrero agreed to receive stolen desktop computers from other individuals who had taken the desktop computers from Spring Creek Elementary School. The investigation was conducted by Rosebud Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Services. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Marie H. Ruettgers. Guerrero was released. |
