
Rosebud Man Pleads Guilty to Assaulting a Federal Officer

United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that Blake Bordeaux, age 22, of Rosebud, appeared before United States Magistrate Judge Mark A. Moreno on November 15, 2012, and pled guilty to Assaulting a Federal Officer. The maximum penalty upon conviction is one year in custody, a $100,000 fine, or both. The conviction stems from an incident that took place on August 27, 2011, when Bordeaux assaulted a federal officer. This case was investigated by Rosebud Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Services and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Marie H. Ruettgers. A presentence investigation was ordered, and a sentencing date was set for January 17, 2013. The defendant was remanded to the custody of the United States Marshal. |
