United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a St. Francis, South Dakota, man charged with Larceny and Aiding and Abetting was sentenced on November 19, 2012, by United States District Judge Roberto A. Lange. Steven Whiting, age 19, was sentenced to 18 months in custody, $2,508.21 in restitution, and a $100 special assessment to the Victim Assistance Fund.

The conviction stems from an incident that took place on February 4, 2012, when Whiting and other individuals took laptop computers and desktop computers from Spring Creek Elementary School.
