
ROSEBUD MAN CHARGED WITH INTERSTATE TRANSPORTATION OF A STOLEN MOTOR VEHICLE AND LARCENY

United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a Rosebud, South Dakota, man has been indicted by a federal grand jury for Interstate Transportation of a Stolen Motor Vehicle and Larceny. Alec Eric Arapahoe, Jr., age 20, was indicted by a federal grand jury on August 22, 2011. He appeared before United States Magistrate Judge Mark A. Moreno on November 20, 2012, and pled not guilty to the indictment. The maximum penalty upon conviction is 10 years in custody, a $250,000 fine, or both. The charges are merely accusations, and Arapahoe is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. The investigation is being conducted by Rosebud Law Enforcement Services. Assistant United States Attorney Tim Maher is prosecuting the case. Arapahoe was released on bond pending trial. A trial date has not been set. |
