U.S. Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a Mission man charged with Abusive Sexual Contact was sentenced on November 21, 2012, by U.S. District Judge Roberto A. Lange. George Scott, Jr., age 27, was sentenced to 12 months and 1 day of imprisonment, 5 years of supervised release, and a $100 special assessment.

Scott was indicted for one count of Sexual Abuse in March 2012. In August, he pled guilty to a Superseding Information that charged him with Abusive Sexual Contact.

The conviction stems from an incident in March of 2011 when the victim and Scott were asleep in the living room of a residence. The victim awoke in the early morning hours and found Scott engaging in sexual contact with her, without permission.

This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Troy Morley prosecuted the case.

Scott was allowed to self-report to the U.S. Marshal Service by 3:00 p.m. on Monday, November 26, 2012.
