Bismarck Man Indicted for Misuse of Farm Services Agency Loan

US Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a Bismarck, North Dakota, man has been indicted by a federal grand jury for the Misuse of Farm Services Agency Loans, Conversion of Farm Services Agency Mortgaged Property, and Making False Statements to Farm Services Agency.

Wroper Kosel, age 25, was indicted by a federal grand jury on November 15, 2012. Kosel appeared before US Magistrate Judge Mark A. Moreno on November 29, 2012, and pled not guilty to the indictment. The maximum penalty upon conviction is 10 years in custody, a $250,000 fine, or both. The charges are merely accusations, and Kosel is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. 

The investigation is being conducted by the Office of Inspector General for the United States Department of Agriculture, and Assistant US Attorney Mikal Hanson is prosecuting the case. Kosel was released on bond pending trial. A trial date has not yet been set.
