
Mission Man Sentenced for Domestic Assault by Habitual Offender

United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a Mission, South Dakota, man charged with Domestic Assault by Habitual Offender was sentenced on December 17, 2012, by United States District Judge Roberto A. Lange. Robert Garrett, age 29, was sentenced to 30 months in custody, 3 years of supervised release, and a $100 special assessment to the Victim Assistance Fund. The conviction stems from an incident that took place on August 9, 2011, when Garrett assaulted his intimate partner. The investigation was conducted by Rosebud Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Services. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Marie H. Ruettgers. Garrett was remanded to the custody of the United States Marshal. |
