Porcupine Man Sentenced to Imprisonment for Sexual Abuse

United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a Porcupine, South Dakota, man charged with Sexual Abuse was sentenced on January 5, 2012, by United States District Judge Jeffrey L. Viken. Don Williams, age 39, was sentenced to 6 years' imprisonment, 5 years of supervised release, and a $100 special assessment to the Victim Assistance Fund.

The charge relates to Williams engaging in a sexual act with a woman who was physically incapable of declining participation on January 25, 2010, at Kyle, South Dakota. Williams pled guilty to the charge of Sexual Abuse on October 17, 2011.

This case was investigated by the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Office of Justice Services, and the Oglala Sioux Tribe Department of Public Safety.

Williams was immediately turned over to the custody of the United States Marshal.
