Rapid City Man Indicted for Drug Conspiracy

United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a Rapid City man has been indicted by a federal grand jury for conspiracy to distribute marijuana in South Dakota.

Kyle Thomas Soltesz, age 32, was indicted by a federal grand jury on October 18, 2011, for conspiracy to distribute marijuana. Soltesz appeared before United States Magistrate Judge Veronica L. Duffy on February 2, 2012, and pled not guilty to the indictment. The maximum penalty upon conviction is 5 years' custody and/or a $250,000 fine. The charge is merely an accusation, and Soltesz is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

The investigation is being conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration. Assistant United States Attorney Ted McBride is prosecuting the case. Soltesz was remanded to the custody of the United States Marshal. A trial date has not yet been set.
