
Two Convicted of Distributing Marijuana

United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that Sandra K. Berry, age 44, and Kim Bradley Catania, age 57, both of Amboy, Washington, were convicted of conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance as a result of a federal jury trial in Rapid City, South Dakota. This charge carries a maximum penalty of five years' imprisonment and/or a $250,000 fine.
Berry and Catania were indicted by a federal grand jury for conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance on September 20, 2011. The charges stem from Berry and Catania conspiring with each other and other persons to distribute marijuana in South Dakota and elsewhere between 2009 and 2011.
This case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Ted McBride. The defendant will be sentenced in approximately 30 days after a presentence investigation has been completed. The defendants were released on bond. |
