United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a Rapid City man charged with Possession of Child Pornography was sentenced on April 6, 2012, by U.S. District Judge Jeffrey L. Viken. Robin Lemme, age 50, was sentenced to 12 months and 1 day of imprisonment, 15 years of supervised release, and ordered to pay a $100 assessment to the Victim Assistance Fund.
Lemme previously pleaded guilty, admitting he knowingly possessed computer files that contained images of child pornography in 2010.
This case was investigated by the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Gregg S. Peterman prosecuted the case.
Lemme was immediately turned over to the custody of the U.S. Marshal.
This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice.
