Scottsbluff Man Sentenced for Living in U.S. Illegally

United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a Scottsbluff man charged with Illegal Reentry After Deportation was sentenced on June 15, 2012, by U.S. District Judge Jeffrey L. Viken. Juan Manuel Villa-Mejia, age 31, was sentenced to time served.

In February 2012, after being arrested by the Rapid City Police Department for traffic violations, Villa-Mejia was found to be living in the United States illegally. He pleaded guilty on May 14, 2012.

This case was investigated by the Rapid City Police Department and the Bureau of Immigration & Customs Enforcement. Assistant U.S. Attorney Eric Kelderman prosecuted the case.
